Hi everyone,

My name is Endri Visha, and I am from Albania. I come from Tirana, the capital of Albania. Being raised my whole life there I was used to a very dynamic city and environment. However, I decided to look for a calmer place to pursue my formation, which is why I came to Novara. I first completed my Master’s course in Medical Biotechnologies at the University of Eastern Piedmont, from which I encountered various challenges. However, the more challenges I faced, the more I loved overcoming them.  I had the opportunity to perform my internship in the Laboratory of Molecular Pathology with Prof., Isidoro, from whom I learned a lot and perfected my laboratory skills.
Having found stability and a very welcoming group in this University, I decided to pursue my academic journey and continue my PhD here. Therefore, I began this stage of my life at the Genetics laboratory under Prof.ssa Sandra D’Alfonso.  These four years passed quickly, of course, as they say ‘come passa il tempo quando ci si diverte’ meaning that time flies when you have fun. These years were a lot of fun, but also there were many challenges, which pushed me to extents I had not been pushed before, all for the better, since I think they were necessary for my formation. I had the opportunity to work on a very complex and sensitive argument regarding neurodegenerative disorders, which motivated me to dedicate all my time in this field of study.

In the end, I think these years in this University have been full of emotion and personal and professional development, and everyone should experience a period such as this away from the comfort of their own city, trying and overcoming new challenges.
