Hi everyone,

I am Ali Fawaz, born in the beautiful coastal city of Saida, Lebanon. I was raised among the hills and olive trees of our village, Al-Ghassanieh, where simplicity, nature, and strong community values left a lasting impression on me. The peaceful rhythm of Lebanese village life shaped my worldview and continues to ground me wherever I go.

I began my academic path at the Lebanese University, earning a degree in General Biology. My fascination with the human body and the mysteries of life sciences drove me to pursue advanced studies in Italy, where I earned a Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnologies at Università del Piemonte Orientale. I am currently completing my PhD at the same institution, in the histology laboratory, focusing on cancer therapy-associated research and biotechnology, particularly investigating Factor VIII (FVIII) and its therapeutic potential.

Though I’ve been physically far from Lebanon, my heart has never left it. The recent war that began in 2024 has deeply affected all of us who call Lebanon home. It has been painful to watch our country endure so much hardship, yet I’ve also never been prouder of our people. Against all odds, Lebanon stood tall. Despite the suffering and uncertainty, our nation resisted with dignity, unity, and an unbreakable spirit.

In the resilience of our people, I see the same strength that I try to carry in my own life and work. My dream is not only to advance science but to one day bring back knowledge, hope, and opportunity to Lebanon—to help rebuild, to heal, and to give back to the land that raised me.

I believe in Lebanon. I believe in its youth, in its nature, in its culture, and in its future. My journey in science is also a journey of love, loyalty, and hope—for a better tomorrow, for all of us.
